Hi there.

Our church recently upgraded to a digital sounddesk and we're looking to sell our old one, as well as a really old one we found in a closet somewhere.  How can I determine what they're worth?

First, what are they?  Make/model?

Second, go lookup the same (or comparable) desks on eBay or Reverb and see what others are asking for them or have sold them for.

Thanks for your help.  One is an Allen & Heath GL2400, the other is a Yamaha MX200.  I'm not sure what year they were made/bought, though.

Serial numbers often reveal production dates.

In any case, those analog desks don't carry a lot of street value.  As already suggested, search the online sales sites for pricing examples.  Shipping would be cost prohibitive, so focus on selling locally (i.e. craigslist).

The GL2400 - I'd donate to another small church youth room, it's not worth trying to collect $50 or whatever. 

The Yamaha - free to anyone who wants it. 

The GL2400 wasn't bad, but is it worth 20 hours of your time to maybe get $150?

This.  After you calculate the value of the time you take to sell these you’ll be well in the hole.  Donate them or put them up for free on Craigslist and be done with them.  If you really need the money go do some yard work around the neighborhood - you’ll make more that way for the same amount of time.
