Greg,

Have you tried shielding around/on top of the amp module in any way?

Some heavy tin foil or blackwrap might be useful to keep stray RF from spewing everywhere.

Greg. Are you sure your mic cables are wired correctly? Not just pass a cable tester, but actually verify Pin 1 is connected to the shield.

Along those same lines, maybe check that pin 1 is not connected to the XLR shell.
Having said that the MK4 is a legit Whirlwind cable so I kind of doubt it.

Yes, I've visually inspected the cables on multiple occasion. I do it to verify the shell is not tied to pin 1. I've been hurt before. Also, i purchase a fresh set of cables every couple of years to replace ones that "walk off". I've seen this with brand new MK4 cables and older ones.

The RF is traveling down the AC cable. I don't think shielding the amp module would do much since that doesn't seem to be the mode of transmission. Also, it might void the warranty ;)

Yeah, I check that on nearly every new cable I get. And yeah, the MK4 cables have served me well for probably 20 years. Never had issues like this before with it. It's a shame I'm going to have to retire a lot of it to use these speakers.

Have you thought to try shielded power cords?

I had not. I might try one of those.

Thanks for the idea. Of course, I feel like JBL should be paying for these workaround rather than myself  ;)

Considering Debbie's opposite experience I think you'd do well to CALL JBL.  I suspect a change in the amp module input circuit.  What, if anything, JBL will do about that is an open guess.

It seems ridiculous to have to move from the Whirlwind cables to the star-quad.
Are you absolutely sure there is nothing else going on with the AC in the building?
Have you tried duplicating the problem in a different building?
Just for kicks, I would put a ground lift adapter on the AC cord feeding the buzzing JBL just to be sure it isn't some type of ground loop.
