Well made crimps are “gas tight” and while there may be surface discoloring, the electrical integrity should be good.

Good point, these look really, REALLY well made crimps.

Maybe I just spray my deoxit all over all the connectors?

So I've been meaning to update my post(s).

I have successfully reconditioned my TD1's.

Some small spot testing, and then a full 3-day gig just this weekend.

In short, I really really love these speakers. I wasn't sure if all the work that went into them was worth the effort. But I figured the work was me learning even if I didn't like the TD1's... The SRX835p's are VERY hard to beat for the price. But the TD1's edge out just a bit. I didn't do a direct comparison but using my sound memory I think they sound cleaner and get probably 3dB louder.

The highs are insane, crisp and clear without any hint of distortion or running out of gas even when hitting the iTech 8000's thermal/peak limiters hard (-6dB).

I measured 105dBA fast @ 50ft & 115dBA/125dBC @ ~15ft. Glorious, glorious sound.

For the reconditioning process, I started with as suggested re-soldering all the connections.

I then re-wired one of the speakers with some new 16awg wires for the mains leads.

I added some pantyhose to the compression driver.

I added some weather stripping around the inner/outer box to help seal it a bit more, 60-80hz sine waves cause a good bit of air to move and I felt like it should be a sealed box...? This helped but it isn't perfect, I ran with it for this gig. But I want a better solution.

I didn't add any passive protection, though I still want to.

I sanded the inside to smooth out the compression driver transition.

I repainted them.

I applied corrosion X to everything.

How do you have them mounted to those stands?

For the improvements.

I added some handles to one (didn't have time yet to do the other).

And lastly had a wood-working friend build me a pair of mounts.

Drew Gandy has his original design for the mounts that I/we copied/changed.

They are excellent.
