Dante Virtual Soundcard on High Sierra
« on: November 05, 2021, 12:51:37 AM »

Hi Brains Trust,

we are currently running an older version of DVS on an older Mac running High Sierra. I recently noticed that the most recent version of Dante Virtual Sound Card supports 64X64 channels, however no longer supports High Sierra... I have a hunch that this is only a formality given that Apple no longer formally supports High Sierra and that the new DVS would work... has anyone tried with any success? I am a bit scared to pull the trigger given how difficult it can be to downgrade software on a Mac...

thanks

My guess is that the computer you're using is old enough that it won't let you upgrade? While not answering your question directly, I've been running Catalina on an old MBP using DosDude's Catalina Patcher (http://dosdude1.com/catalina/) with no issues.

DVS has supported 64 x 64 channels since at least 2013 when I first started using it on Mountain Lion, several OS versions before High Sierra. Every DVS version since has continued to do 64 channels.
