Curious problem with EW300 TX
« on: April 11, 2018, 05:24:05 AM »

Working on an RF kit at a gig and one of the hand held EW300 mics will not TX un mute.
I have reset the mic and toggled the "TX mute?" on and off but the "mute" still shows in the window on the mic and the RX doesn't receive RF signal.
The beltpack for that RX works as expected.
Thoughts or suggestions?

I'll start with a question about something that's bitten me a few times: did you screw the battery compartment closed? IIRC those handhelds AF Mute when the battery compartment is open, which (while not explaining your lack of signal on the RX) might explain the "MUTE" indication on the mic...

Battery compartment closed but I have never noticed the mute when battery compartment is opened.
Just looked at another mic and sure enough, the mute comes on when unscrewing the tail.
Learn something every day!
I suspect a deffective switch.
