Bands offered $6000 to play at the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.

The suits who made the offer were probably pulling that in as a daily rate.

Stadium full.  25,000 seats.  Tickets between $100 and $495 each.

$6000 for a five piece band, to cover rehersals and crew too.

George Sheppard told news.com.au the band was offered an “honorarium fee” — with organisers telling their agent both the “exposure” and “fun” involved would be added incentive.

Wonder how much "exposure" and "fun" they offered the sound provider?

It's the biggest gig in whole damn country and they cheap out on entertainer honorariums?  Pfffft.  "Sure, we'll play your gig for AU$6k, but our crew get full rate for each day.  They don't benefit from exposure and this is their job, not their fun."

And exposure?  Another LABster's old sig line:  "Your doing this gig for exposure."  "This is Canada, people die of exposure."

Or get a contract that says all you get is exposure, then strip off in the middle of the gig and walk off.

   Much better than say, Ozzfest, where Sharon would charge the second and third stage acts as much as 10k$ for the "right of exposure" for the honor of playing on an Ozzie gig. Just another reason she is most hated as a person, not just in the business.
