VGA Extender problems
« on: March 27, 2018, 03:59:47 PM »

Greetings,

My church has a VGA extender box connected to a CAT5 on the front of the stage in our auditorium. It sends its signal up to another box connected directly into our projector at the back of the auditorium. Recently we haven't been able to get an input signal from the stage to the projector. This problem has only occurred within the last couple months. Does anyone have suggestions about what might be the problem? Thanks!

What changed?
What is the video source? Did it change?
Was there construction?
Maybe the cable broke? Did something at the projector get unplugged?

What are the specific pieces of gear involved?
Is it cat5 or cat5e?

Along with Rob's questions - VGA is pretty much dead.  Now may be a great time to replace the signal flow or even the projector.

Try changing out the power supplies on the TX and RX units. We have had many units stop transmitting due to faulty power supplies.

Test and verify your cabling.

What model is your extender rx and tx?
