Anybody used TomCom's com system?

http://tomcom.tv/tomcom.htm

I've never heard of it, but it looks decent and I like the price. Says it's clearcom compatible.

Where does it say the comms is clearcomm compatible.  Just looks like they offer “clear com type” headsets.

That said, it wouldn’t surprise me if it is clearcom compatible.  I also wouldn’t spend money without a serious demo.  That website does something very far from breeding confidence.

It did on the ebay listing where I found it.

I just did a little googling and found a couple references to the owner (Tom Hilbe) being a crook. I guess I'll pass.

Are there any cheap com systems that work out there? I just need 1 channel and 6 or so packs.

Clearly is not......  Website is devoid of any useful information.

As much as I like to save money too, I have found that "cheap" and "RF" just don't go well together.

I don’t need rf. I‘m looking for wired units for a 4 camera setup. The cameras’s don’t move.

Cheap would hopefully be 2000 ish.

I've had good success with the Production Intercom products. Belt packs can be found used for under $200; new I think they're closer to $300. Same deal with the power supplies- I think I've gotten each one of mine for only a couple hundred. Headsets (brand new) $110 to $190. To be candid, I cruise eBay looking for good deals on them when I need them.

... which reminds me, I need another belt pack anyway.... ha.

Do the cameras have comm in them? You may not need packs for the cameras, just a way to interface to the comm port on the CCUs.

I second the production intercom stuff.  They have a budget econocom linetoo that’ll probably get you done for under 2K.

Mac’s suggestion is also good though interfacing to some cameras for a one-off may be far more work than it’s worth if they aren’t already setup for comms.
