Anybody used TomCom's com system?

http://tomcom.tv/tomcom.htm

I've never heard of it, but it looks decent and I like the price. Says it's clearcom compatible.

Where does it say the comms is clearcomm compatible.  Just looks like they offer ďclear com typeĒ headsets.

That said, it wouldnít surprise me if it is clearcom compatible.  I also wouldnít spend money without a serious demo.  That website does something very far from breeding confidence.

It did on the ebay listing where I found it.

I just did a little googling and found a couple references to the owner (Tom Hilbe) being a crook. I guess I'll pass.

Are there any cheap com systems that work out there? I just need 1 channel and 6 or so packs.

Clearly is not......  Website is devoid of any useful information.

As much as I like to save money too, I have found that "cheap" and "RF" just don't go well together.

I donít need rf. IĎm looking for wired units for a 4 camera setup. The camerasís donít move.

Cheap would hopefully be 2000 ish.

I've had good success with the Production Intercom products. Belt packs can be found used for under $200; new I think they're closer to $300. Same deal with the power supplies- I think I've gotten each one of mine for only a couple hundred. Headsets (brand new) $110 to $190. To be candid, I cruise eBay looking for good deals on them when I need them.

... which reminds me, I need another belt pack anyway.... ha.

Do the cameras have comm in them? You may not need packs for the cameras, just a way to interface to the comm port on the CCUs.

I second the production intercom stuff.  They have a budget econocom linetoo thatíll probably get you done for under 2K.

Macís suggestion is also good though interfacing to some cameras for a one-off may be far more work than itís worth if they arenít already setup for comms.

Unfortunately no. These are glorified cam-corders thathave been in place for years. We are moving to some black magic bodies sometime soon. Basically we are trying to up our video game. I have very little to do with video village except to send them an audio mix.

We had a special event yesterday and I had to wear one of the "comms" that they use and was appalled. Therefor out of the goodness of my heart, and the fact that I run all the audio anyway, I'm getting them some proper comms.

My mistake Tim. :-[
On the web page it kind of looked like a wireless kit.
Have you looked at this product?

I've used Production Intercoms a lot before, but didn't know about the "econo" version. This looks good.
