rackmount UPS
« on: March 23, 2018, 01:04:32 PM »

I'm in the process of putting my digital stageboxes in road cases and I'm looking at 1ru UPSs.
One will just feed the Stagebox and the other will have a Stagebox and Driverack.
In looking at the Triplite reviews, they either work perfect of fail or have a noisy fan.
What does the hive mind have to say?
Other brands?
Thanks, all!

Does APS do a rackmount ?  We have a couple of their lunch box UPS units and they have been great.

I've got some Eaton 5P 550's that serve me well.  They have two priorities of conditioned power.  The fans are audible, but not outrageously loud, IMHO.

I have used the CyberPower consumer-grade 1U UPS (350W) for my stage boxes, and have had good results. One got fried by some wonky service at an old hotel, but the gear stayed safe and CyberPower replaced the unit under warranty. If memory serves, they were around $130ea.

I purchased a CyberPower PR750LCDRM1U 1U rack mount UPS in my main rack.  Its quite and works very well far.  Only real issue I see is that it is about 20" deep, so it will not fit is an Efx style shallow rack.

I have a TrippLite that's held up for years. I would never put a UPS in a rack that wasn't on wheels. Even small ones are heavy.

We've got an APC SMX1500RM2U (2 RU rack mount unit) that's worked flawlessly for our FOH rack.

I have the Cyberpower OR500 in my x32R rack. It’s only about as deep as the mixer and So far has worked great.

I have two of the SMX1500RM2Us for my server rack at home. I’m waiting on two more. Fortunately my day job would rather replace the unit than the batteries. I’m not complaining. They are a nice unit.
