On a subject I know well enough to know I don't know much,

I've been asked on a tour where I will be supplied with 8 ch of BTR 800 with lmr 400 cabling and shure passive directional paddle antennas and a 16 chs Sennheiser sk2050 kit supplied with A 3700 active Sennheiser omni antennas, seems to me this should be the other way around or maybe both kits should have passive directional antennas or am i missing something here.....all the venues will be in China!

All antennas should be passive with tall stands or clamps so that they can be positioned above people's heads and other obstructions. The geographic location is moot.

Kudos to whoever specified the LMR400.

thx Henry...so omni vs directional is not an issue in a (i imagine) crowded rf environment like China?

I only use LMR 400 so that will be supplied by me...

The factors dictating the type of antenna to use are coverage area from the perspective of the antenna’s location and rear signal attenuation if needed. RF congestion in and of itself is not really a factor.
