It's for the 20th anniversary of the Evolution series - different mic each month, heavily discounted.

I've ordered one to try, and am hoping to replace a fair chunk of my mic locker with them - nice smooth response, with a slight upward tilt, should sound good on most things straight out of the box. I'll do some testing to verify that, and then I'll throw the test mic at as many instruments as I can lay hand to. The compact form factor and smooth response are both great selling points for me. If it'll work well on violin, sax, flute, snare, kick, acoustic guitar, cabs, etc etc, I'll be very happy indeed.

Will report back when it arrives.

I placed an order for an e904 today just to compare it to the e604 and they are back ordered. Hope they put the e935 on the celebration sale at some point.

I had to cancel my first order and go through another supplier - they were back ordered until May, and I might want 5 more...

Hopefully this is allowed. If not I apologize.

Many places have the 904 for $99 right now if anyone is looking for drum Mics.

I swapped over to these last year and bought four then. Two more can't hurt.. 8) 8) 8)

Thanks, Chris.

They are equally cheap in Canada right now.  I don't have any dedicated snare/tom mics right now.  I think I'll get four.

First one's arrived and impressions are good. Did a bit of messing around, running frequency sweeps and comparing it to other mics and found it very smooth in the upper range. This comes across when listening, too.

I'm doing sound for an open mic tomorrow, so I'm hoping to put it through its paces with as many different instruments as possible. While it's marketed as a snare/tom mic, there's no reason it can't see use on cabs, brass, etc etc.

So what were the jan and feb deals?

Looking at retiring. Local PA market has shrank to 2 guys with guitars and bose l1 compacts or expecting full line array and 16 movers on stage for $300... no middle left going back to event DJ stuff, half the work for twice the pay.

Don't know what the January offer was but February's was the e865 for $99.95. It is still listed on Sweetwater's website for that price.

They sound fantastic clipped onto a Leslie. Get permission first.

I like that idea!

4 on backorder through SW.  Could be as long as "late April" to ship.  But, at least I'm locked in at the sale price.
