Be aware that many of the new digital systems (such as QLXD and ULXD) are not compatible with many mics, especially inexpensive models.  Their RF modulation schemes use variants of AM transmission that "leaks" into the audio signal through their cables and mic elements and sounds awful.  Make sure to test this thoroughly with your existing mics before you buy or rent a ton of channels.

Do you strictly mean like handheld mics fo other brands? Our Sennheiser handheld mics currently are all on the B band  except one so would also need replaced as well. The majority we use are micro lavaliers - Countryman and Microphone Madness brand. There wouldn't be an issue with the microphone element itself going into the Shure transmitter, correct?

I mean lavs and headsets.  I learned this the hard way on a gig and verified by searching the Shure help forums.  It's not only about connector compatibility, but also how well the mic's RF blocking capacitor functions.

Rent one for a day and test it with your mics.  Don't rely on any dealer advice or manufacturer's specs when it's so easy and inexpensive to make absolutely sure by testing one yourself, in your working environment, with your mics.  It's simple and cheap to make a Senn to Shure adapter cable with a 1/8 TRS female to TA4F.  If you don't want to make one they are all over eBay.
