5g or 5th Generation wireless question

I am hearing a lot about this in regards to new cell phones, but can't find much (I searched psw) about what bandwidth this new tech uses, I am pretty sure it is different from the new cell phones in the 600mhz but I am looking to see if any of you guys can help me out...thx

Here's the Wikipedia article; the Coles Notes version is that they operate at 28GHz and above (no, that's not a typo).

Well, yes and no. Whereas the concept behind 5G is to operate the higher frequency bands in order to utilize wide channel bandwidths, the protocol, once finalized by IEEE, is scalable to the lower bands. T-Mobile specifically is deploying 5G in their 600MHz blocks. Whether or not the other 600MHz carriers do so as well is unknown.

You have to be more specific,  5th generation of what technology?

If you are talking about cellular mobile radio LTE format then 5g is in initial testing for conformant RAN's (radio access network). Actual application seeds will be implementation dependent.
