I have been curious how these sound so I borrowed a set from my Bose rep.
F1 Powered Subwoofer and F1 812 tops. Listed at 1,000 watts for the tops and 1,000 watts for the bottoms.
Subs have 2 x 10" drivers, tops have 1 x 12" driver and 8 x 2.25" drivers.
Kind of a cool feature is the ability to aim the tops in 3 different patterns.
I wanted to see how they sounded against my "wedding" rig:
JBL PRX715XLF with JBL PRX612M tops, using the internal crossover on the subs.
Haven't done a real gig with a band through the Bose, but with my iPod, very different sounding rigs.
Bose wasn't bad, but wasn't nearly as smooth sounding in the upper end as the JBL's. And the JBL low-end blew the Bose away.
I mixed a band in a venue that had an installed F1 system with the tops flown above the stage and found the same upper-mid weirdness I heard in my garage.
Curious if anyone out there owns or has tried the Bose?
