I'm *really* excited to get my hands on the USB ones.  I'd love to just drop a bunch of those in Video World on corporate gigs, named for whatever machine they're attached to.
Why not just use DVS?

Guest laptops, most likely.

This would allow a plug and play situation of any USB source.

Man, I'm still convinced that there are issues with DVS.

Plus, if you have these set up before hand and they can be named in a logical order, then you can patch the one or two inputs or outputs through Dante Controller and not worry about what everyone else's laptops are doing.

I have great success using DVS.  But that's when i control what machine it's running on and how it is being used.  I think these little dongle thingys have a world of great uses where those two things may not be the case.

I have one of the Amphenol outs. Guessing no head amp control on the in's and obviously no phantom.

I think I was trying to get across that this would not work for microphones but probably did not explain myself.

There should be no reason you couldn't.  If your computer can use more than one audio interface at the same time, this should work just fine.  I know that Macs let you do this very easily.

Other people answered for me, but yes, it'd be nice to have a plug&play(ish) option.
