Hey Keith,
How did the cheap mics work out? I'm in a similar situation, have a bunch of decent h/s mics but looking for something disposable yet usable.
Cheers,
BJ

I got a Pyle and it did sound reasonable enough but it was a bit too "hot" for the Senny TX. Also, as mentioned before, the boom is a tad long.
There was also a bit more handling noise than I would expect.
Having had the mic pre overload issue with the Sennheiser packs before, I chose to order some similar mics that have a little lower output with a shorter boom.
These mics have a similar, detachable  connector to the Countyman, so I purchased extra cable for use with Shure packs.
Will report on how they work when I get them.

Look up Yam Audio on Ebay. They have a dual ear headset mic with an adjustable headband (the Pyle head band does not adjust) for $30. Perfect for school plays, they sound decent and the mic boom is also adjustable.

Thanks for the tip but the mics have already been ordered.
Also, they want the single ear style.
