Other than the fact Gibson has a huge note coming due soon?  No  ;) .

I would expect more such announcements as they try to whittle down expenses.

Gibson is in the hundreds of millions in debt now at 520 mill!!!!! They are sinking faster than the Titanic and they are showing signs of their need to make quick turnaround a quick buck.

Their quality control has taken a back seat and even their top line guitars have had unacceptable flaws leave the shop. They are cutting any corner possible in order to stay afloat. I have been tracking them the last several years and they just don't know what to do. They have had 3 different generations of their flagship guitar in as many years and they keep trying to expand that flagship line into multiple parallel lines that just don't appeal. They are pecking and hunting right now.

Cakewalk was one of the first DAW's I was working with and that changed as Pro Tools then Reaper came along. I get the feeling that the brand Cakewalk will be sold. As of right now it only appears to have suspended production. Guess time will tell. Gibson will likely be bought out eventually and the brand will have to undergo a bottom up approach to keeping the name as strong as it once was.

I am one of those people who have used Cakewalk since conception, specifically because it's probably the best live sequencer available. I run Cubase for recording, but on stage it's Cakewalk and always has been. I'm 10 miles from their offices, so I may stop by and see what's up.

Luke,
I don't agree with your statements concerning Gibson quality. Another matter, another time.
