Countryman E2 vs E6 ?
« on: April 25, 2011, 05:11:28 PM »

Anyone tried the E2 and have an opinion (or 2) on how well these directional (cardioid ?) mic's work versus the E6 omni's ?

TIA

Someone else wants to know this too  :D

Might just help at those corporate functions where the 'talent' still shys away from the E6.

I would also like to know.  We use B6 for plays mostly and E6 for louder musicals...but perhaps the E2 could replace both?  Gain before feedback comparable to E6, but less visible like B6 at hairline or ear?  Downside is cost, I could be wrong but I think they're the most expensive Countryman at the moment.

I'm curious, too. Saw it at NAB, and I thought it might be good if it does not slip and point the wrong way.

They do cost quite a bit more.

I'm getting in one of each so I can do some camparisons.

But it would still be useful to hear from anyone with actual (real world, gig) observations about these.

They certainly look better, they almost disappear from view.   But downside appears to be a decrease in gain before feedback.
