What is this thing? (Misc. JBL part)

Found rattling around in a PRX718XLF.  About 1.25" long, 0.5" high, stamped with 502514 on the back.  What is it?

I’m unsure.  I took the same piece out of an srx812’s after hearing noise as well.  Fortunately, no issues since the removal.
