Hi all,
Can someone explain to me what the deal with Comtek BST-216 IFB's and IAS? IAS has them listed in the models, but has any frequency north of 216 MHz as an exclusion zone, so if you test a frequency it says it's not in an active frequency range.

Can someone explain to me what the deal with Comtek BST-216 IFB's and IAS? IAS has them listed in the models, but has any frequency north of 216 MHz as an exclusion zone, so if you test a frequency it says it's not in an active frequency range.

216-217 MHz is allowed on a secondary non-interference basis for assisted listening devices, which IFB can be loosely considered. I usually include up to 217 in the VHF TV band SA sweeps that I import into IAS. Then I just manually accept assignments despite the warning.

The profile is available for certain users in certain scenarios which have legal use of those frequency bands. Same reason a profile like the UHF-R Q9 are included in IAS but the 700MHz band is an exclusion zone.
