How to set up my PA

I am getting many requests from people new to Live Sound for a setup guide or a book explaining how to set up a pa system. This is mainly from gigging bands/duos's and DJ's performing for 100 - 500 guests.

Can anyone recommend a publication that is easy to follow and suitable for active and passive systems, please?

I can then point people in the right direction for independent impartial advice.
