Best bass response I have heard in a 15" under $800 is the Yamaha DXR15 - ridiculous low end without a sub. 7 year warranty - probably best bang for your buck.

I've been extremely impressed with my DXR15's. I've had them for almost 6 years now and they still continue to surprise me with how good they are for their price! I've even successfully miked up a full drum kit and had bass guitar running through them.

I had the chance to hear the RCF 735a's recently but that was with a pair of 8003 subs. They did sound very good but couldn't comment on how they compare to the DXR15's.

Where is everyone here buying online their staff from? If I can't get my head set on which one to get, for now between the DXR15 or Art 735a, I might buy one of each one, test them, return the loser and get another winner.  :) It may be a lot of work  but I get to know which one is better for my needs.

If you're able to do that I would 100% recommend doing so.

There are lots of members here on the forums that are dealers for a variety of products. I would absolutely suggest reaching out to one before going to an online dealer. Mike Pyle is someone on here who helps a lot of people with their speaker needs. [We are dealers for Shure & Sennheiser, so I always chime in when someone talks about wanting to purchase microphones!]

It's always nice to support other forum members before Big Box Stores.

You mentioned a mixer.  Do you really need one?  Many powered speakers have inputs for Ipod, CD or whatever and for a mic.  Just a thought.

MMMM How to link a pair then if I'm connected to just one speaker?

Here are some importan specs for these two speakers.

                                RCF ART 735a           Yamaha DXR15
Bass:   45Hz  @ -3db             49Hz @ -10db           Per this RCF has better and louder base.
Compression Drive:   1.4" , 3.0" vc             1.4" , 1.0" vc             RCF with better voice clear
                 Woofer:   15"  , 3.0" vc              15" , 2.5" vc
           Total power:   700 W RMS                700 W RMS
   High frequencies:    200 W RMS                100 W RMS
   Low frequencies:     500 W RMS                600 W RMS

SO what's your take on the technical numbers?

I would still advise listening to both speakers as this doesn't tell you how the speakers will really sound.
