Does this exist?
« on: June 12, 2017, 06:52:33 AM »

Greetings everyone :)
I'm looking to experiment a bit with FIR filters on my monitors, and I was wondering if there's any FIR filter VST or RTAS plugins out there. Basically something that will import filters from FIR Designer and process the signal through them.
I can't seem to find anything... Is there anything out there you're aware of?
Cheers!

Might get a license after all, looks like an awesome piece of software...
I think than answers my question, thanks!

Maybe this ?     http://convolver.sourceforge.net/
Yeah, that should work well, thanks! :)
I made the mistake of posting this before I used the demo much. (I thought I had to find a VST that would accept text-defined filters)
I then realized the software can export the filters in the form of an IR WAV, I assume even my IR reverb plugins will work :)
Thanks again!

Great, glad it will work.   I was just guessing it might work for you...I'm not so literate here...

I've only used the 'Config File' part of Convolver,.......to direct either FIR Designer or rePhase files out of Jriver convolution, into an x-32 usb card.
Which, for playback, works great, and sounds awesome.
http://convolver.sourceforge.net/config.html

You're gonna love FIR.      I mean, this 3-way active main was 90 min worth of work, from measurement of raw drivers individually to measurement of drivers corrected, and aligned together ...once you get the hang of it.....

:O
Seriously? That's a phase graph!?? And no smoothing on either of them? I'm speechless!

Haha thx!
Yes, it get's easy. Using a lot of smoothing becomes akin to fishing in a barrel :)

Hi Mark,

What box was that measurement from?   .....  ;)

Hi Peter,  it was from a superbly designed box that can't help but measure straight traces when tuned, even by a hack like me !!!   ;)

The measurement graph file says DIY60, but it's really the DIY90....
(I'm used to typing 60, because that's the horn I spent all my time learning on.
I think I mentioned on the other forum that I just converted my 2 boxes to 90 degree duty, and am building some new 60's.)

Anyway, the graph represents the first and only time I tried tuning the DIY90 with FIR.  Sounds very close to the 60 degree now.
Oh, and it's using the BMS xover btw

Many thanks yet again for such a great design !
