Saving money on buying new high-end wireless
« on: March 21, 2018, 05:09:40 PM »

Hi all, I'm pretty new here but not new to sound. I have several wireless mics (mostly Shure) in various venues, and have had to move to different frequency bands as the spectrum is auctioned off. I have noticed that Shure is offering pretty good rebates on their newer products. I'm thinking that, if someone is looking to buy a high-end product, and would like to save some money, they could buy a non-legal product from eBay and then use it as a trade-in model. Example: Buy a Shure SLX-L4 or ULX-M1 for $200, then get a $500 rebate on an Axient or ULXD4D/ULXD4Q. You save $300! Other models are not as attractive as rebate targets.
I'm not in the market for these, but someone probably is. Just offering the suggestion in case it would help you save money.
