Back in the late 50's and 60's we plugged into the amp and touched the mics to see if we got a shock. If you didn't all was good. No one gave a damn about cable type, and a big step in effects was Gibson's fuzz tone and Boomerang wah pedal. One day I was given a red colored coily cord and my head exploded.

So why does it now take 50 pedals, special pickups, modelers, etc. to get that "Vintage" today? Sales and marketing, that's why.

I rather enjoy packing fiberglass panels on top of and around loud guitar amps, specially just before they walk on stage, its a small thing but it annoys them a rather large amount...

That and adjusting their pickup heights for them.

Honestly there are some really nice guitarists out there, most of them with bad gear...

You wont hear any noticeable difference if you dont use already broken in cables.

Oh, and be sure they are the right cables. Meaning wire is twisted clockwise. otherwise you are using the wrong cables.

Uh... In the southern hemisphere, the cables should twist counter-clockwise.  Good enough for toilets, good enough for cables.

If you flip the polarity would that help????????????

If you use a northern hemisphere rig with Aussie cable just invert the output of the amp and invert the input of the sub. That will cancel out the effect of the backwards cable.

Now wether you will hear a difference controlling for that I'm not so sure. The last few feet really isn't the cable or the driver, it's the propagation medium. I.E.: air.

You need the right stuff. Something pure. Vacuum it all out and replace it with something pure. A homogenous composition. Something elemental preferably.

Any real engineer would easily be able to hear the difference.
