I am stunned that you don't have an emergency spare.  Even basic analog units can be had for almost free*.

Yes they are not as ideal as the DSP, but it's better than "dead air" and loss of company reputation.

(* I do installs, old analog gear is literally being dumpstered nowadays)

Never leave home with out a spare crossover, I have a small two space rack dedicated to two spare crossovers, a TDM stereo three way and a TDM stereo two way. There pre wired with cables already connected to the inputs and outputs. The rack is with me at every job I do. I also have some form of spare mixer with me as well.

Rest assured we have a spare. The horse has been beaten thoroughly to death...

Well today I opened up all but one of my 360's, I have never had any problems with them in the little over a year I have been using them. This was a pro active measure and it worked out I somewhat had time to do it today.

Did you have to remove the top middle allen screw on the front plate?  My cover seems to be held in place there.  Maybe it is just wedged very tight.  I didn't want to bend the cover.

if the allen has to be removed, what size key/wrench?  No inch or MM in my sets (cheap generic)  fit.

Thanks

Yes, that allen screw needs to be taken out to remove the top cover.
I can't remember the size, I just had one that fit!

All of the hex head screws are 7/64" in size.

That's it.  My set doesn't have it.  I'll have to bring my real set from work.

thanks

I completed my repair.  (Not sure why) but I anticipated sockets.  I see now what so many problems have been reported.  Single-point spring contacts.  Easy to corrode or foul.

Is that what the newer style are also?
My repair was to leave the (what looks like a "4") contact on the wire and slide the apex over the post, wedged in by a toothpick.  The repeated on the other.  Hot glued over the top and made sure that it ran in between, all glued to the post lock tang.  I didn't want to fool with stray wires jumping arc.  Yes, I soldered.

Apologies for dredging up this old thread, but the VENU 360 I purchased in July of 2015 just exhibited this failure on Saturday night.  Input and Output meter ladders flashing, no signal going to power amps.  Fortunately, a reboot resolved it for the remainder of the evening.

My only modification to the posted procedure was to slip on some shrink tubing before soldering the Power Supply leads to the post, both to insulate and, hopefully, secure the new connection.

Thanks to Mike Diack for posting the original fix.
