Hey,
I am just about to pull the trigger on a NUQ118B-AN or the Siena TSP118B-AN...  I know the NuQ is a Bandpass but being Turbosound it should be a good one.
I am curious as to what you thought about this sub if you have a moment?

Thanks!
Matt

Got my M18B few years ago with Turbo told me that there is only limited coming in here.  I started to pair it with my m15 tops and blown away by the depth and sounds clarity.

A few things about Siena 112 and 118. . .

1) No powerCON passthrough on tops or subs
2) Only one handle on the tops
3) No casters or option for casters on the subs
4) Not the best single 18" sub I've heard, but better than many others
5) Tops were notably muddy compared to my RCF TT52s, but the RCF are 3x the price. . .
6) Finish on the cabinets will take the skin off your hands and marks up very easily
7) Does not have same DSP speaker simulation as iQ but has Ultranet
8) TS covers fo speakers are surprisingly nice and well fitted
9) Grills are notably heavier than my Milan boxes

Not a bad PA for the money, but there are some things that could use improving

Thanks for the info Tim!

Well I ordered the NuQ tops and subs.  They are supposed to be delivered tomorrow so I hope to have to good news to report.  Till then...

Regards,
Matt

I recently purchased a Nuq-118b-an powered sub.  I listened to many subs and read reviews for the past 6 months or so.  I use them with Yamaha DSR 112 tops.  I also have a Line-6 sub with my system.  From my listening experiences I could classify most subs into 3 types of sound:  Muddy, good low end rumble, or punchy with good kick.  My goal was to find a single sub with very good kick mainly for DJ rock/metal music and techno dance music.  These are very new so there was not many reviews.  I could not listen to them either.  I took a chance based on the few reviews I saw and the fact these are similar to the Milan 18b subs.  Most of these reviews were very good and since the Nuq has more power and also a fully adjustable DSP EQ over the Milan, I ordered one.  With the EQ the sub can be made to provide a very solid kick (punch) and at the same time, go very low with good rumbling bass.  The Nuq is more punchy than the Line-6 with double 12s.  I am still learning how to use the EQ and crossover settings but VERY satisfied with the sound.  Be prepared for the weight:  127 lbs.  moving it with a dolly is easy since it has handles on both sides.  Cliff

FWIW, NuQ is discontinued, so if you want more, you should order it ASAP. Not many left at the distributor. iQ is the current flagship.

Thanks for the advice...  This is very true with some companies.  I have placed an order for a couple of NuQ112-AN tops and a couple of NuQ118B-AN Subs so I will find out very soon.  Hope they sound as good as they were marketed to be.

Regards,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Hope you got your NUQ tops, what has been your experience with these so far.

How would you compare them to Yamaha DSR-112 or QSC K-12 ?KW122
