Not sure now Weogo, it was a while ago now but I believe it was Parts Express. I bought a whole bunch of parts for other fixes at the same time....

K&M Parts

Debbie, as a reminder, if you use the trick, you can create a "clickable link," which won't require people to 'scroll back and forth' like your link does...

So, if you type this:
Kelcema Audio

Will yield this as a result:
Kelcema Audio

See how I made yours appear above...

Thanks!

(Funny how more porn spams show up on this thread as I write my post. Haha. I've PM'd Doug and Mac, so hopefully that will get shut down quickly!)

That's weird... never had that happen before with other links I have posted - thanks for the hint Ray.

Weogo,

I've had K&M for over 20 years.  They still hold up better IMO.  Parts are readily available from their U.S. distributor, Connolly Music.  I have dealt with John Griffen for the few times I've needed parts(the big elbow bushings in the boom and the odd cross threaded clip mount at the end of a boom being the main things) and his number is 631-925-5525.  That is his direct line, so I'll post their toll free number as well:  800-644-5268.

I also replace the tightening knobs on the elbow with with the dumbbell style, I just find them easier to work.

Best regards,

John

Hi Folks,

I'm working with some folk-rockers who play Guitars and sing, usually seated, sometimes standing.
They like to have mics out front on shorty stands for the Guitars, and their vocal mic stands behind them, boomed out over their left shoulders.
My old K&M tripod stands do ok for the vocals, but the legs are past tightening any more and they look a bit beat.
Am looking for solid stands that will work without issue, aren't tippy, and will last a long time.

So, buy new K&M 25600 stands that weigh 7.3#, $130,
or
Tama Tour MS456BK stands, at 8.6#, $85?

One other interesting choice I've come across is the Quiklok A514 at 8.5#, $65.
Anybody using them?

(The Tama studio tripods, at 11.8#, are probably a bit more than needed!)

Thanks and good health,  Weogo
Hi Weogo,
Check out the stands from Triad-Orbit http://www.triad-orbit.com/
Not cheap, but very good.
