DNA 20k, SM 80/TH118
« on: February 14, 2017, 08:19:56 PM »

Wondering if anyone here has performed an alignment with this setup and would be willing to share some numbers.

Thanks!

There is a preset stack that should get you most of the way there. Josh Millard (who is on here) is the freakin man on this. I got in touch with him by calling Danley home base. The preset stack is definitely the place to start though

I have talked with Josh and he found me a preset to try. I have presets that were measured with my ITech DSP but I'm not sure how well they will translate to the DNA DSP. I'm looking to test and compare several if available.

What are you listening for/what are you trying to accomplish?

The DNA stock presets, my presets from the ITech DSP and what Danley gave me are quite different. There are drastic differences in eq applied to the SM80, different crossover filters, delay times, band pass gains etc.

I'm looking for the best possible alignment that will make the system perform to its potential.
I'm hoping I can get  equal or better results than what I can with the Crown ITech.

If you will send an email to   [email protected]  I will send you the file.

I can't attach it here.

The numbers between the Crown and DNA don't match.

But they are closer than some other DSPs, which are quite a bit off.

The numbers likely won't match from DSP to DSP. I'd start with the DNA presets they sent and see if it sounds better, worse, or indifferent to what you experienced with the itechs
