Hi Everyone,

Looking to buy an antenna for my WDMX Transmitter http://wirelessdmx.com.

Also wanted to find out if anyone had any recommendations with any of their different antennas. I've looked at a few and I could find myself using the direction sometimes as well as the

I usually work in halls/banquet rooms and usually its find but sometimes I end up having some dropouts which I can fix by just running dmx to the the isolated area. Just wanted to get some feedback from anyone that uses their equipment.

Transmitter is the Blackbox, I pretty sure its the previous gen from the one they have on their website.
Receivers are the Micro Series.

Same bands as wifi, so any 2.4/5.8GHz antennas should be fine.

I'm curious about dropouts in the same room with this premium gear.

I have the $10 chinese boards, and haven't seen a  dropout during a show.  Mucking about I've run a ~2km link with an unobstructed line of sight to a nearby hill.

I had ~8dBi of antenna gain at each end of this path, which turns out to be 2300m.

The dropouts happen in certain large ballrooms. Sometimes just a movement of the WMDX transmitter solves the issue but sometimes I end up just making a run from a fixture that has solid connectivity and that does the trick. It a bit of a hassle but better than making long runs.

Things I would look at:

Are your antenna placements ok?  They don't need to be fabulous, but behind a mountain of aluminium roadcases isn't good.  :-) 

Are the dropouts consistent?  Is there anything about the location of the unit that drops out that may imply interference?  Eg unit near the kitchen, or dmx works fine until the crowd arrives...

Do you have enough units to determine if one particular unit is suspect?
