This is what I had in mind. I was thinking I could have one on each side of the stage, so if a performer turns to one side of the stage or the other, there's always an antenna facing them. Is that logical?
But there's a big difference between audio (where having all the extra headroom you possibly can is a good thing) and wireless (where you never want any more than you need). Having a receiver that is capable of receiving from much further away than you'll ever need means that eventually that receiver will find junk that your system will then have to deal with. Likewise having a transmitter that is stronger than necessary means it will be transmitting RF into all the rest of your sound gear and that gear will have to deal with it. So like Goldilocks, when using radios you'll probably get the best results using the Baby Bear approach. ;)
