I'm actually asking about bi-amping though.
It depends.
Just because a loudspeaker is biamped does not mean it will sound better than passive.
If the "biamping process" (eq-delay-level-xover filter type/slope/ freq) is done correct, there is a possiblity it could outperform the passive setup.
That of course also assumes the passive xover is properly designed.
So without knowing all of the "variables" it is hard to say if biamping will actually gain you anything.
At best you could gain a little bit more output (a couple of dB possibly) and a little better transition through crossover.
At worst, it could sound worse. You could possibly damage the loudspeaker due to miswiring.
Your cable cost will be more and will require another amplifier and a larger/heavier rack.
So is it worth it? That is not an easy question to answer.
