Transcension DC-1224 midi scene change
« on: November 02, 2016, 02:06:21 pm »

Hi
I'm trying to do a static scene change via midi on my Transcenion DC-1224 Scene Setter DMX desk but I'm unable to switch scenes with one button press.
It's the most basic thing for a controller to do but it appears it won't to it.

I'd like to be able to do this live with a midi foot controller which I'm soon to get but I'm trying it for now by sending midi note from a keyboard.

To switch static scenes I have to turn the previous scene off and then select another. On this desk, the scenes either run in sequence at the fade
speed set on the slider or in mix mode (running simultaneously).

It can be done by sending 2 midi notes simultaneously, one to turn off the
current scene and one to turn on another.
The Yamaha MFC10 can send up to four notes at the same time so I think that's
the only way it can be done. Just 3 static scenes though I think would use
more than 3 buttons. Gets a bit confusing.

I can setup a chase and step manually through via the foot pedal but it doesn't give me direct access to a static scene.
If anybody has this desk or similar and has managed it, I'd appreciate any help.

A Yamaha MFC10 is on it's way so I'm hoping to do some clever stuff
with it and the Scene Setter ;D
