I have several JBL PRX512m speakers in inventory that all have the same problem. They are out of warranty so I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar problem before I send off for repair.
About a dozen of them have a high pitched ringing from the HF driver at all times. Its at about 8kHz.
I noticed this about 3 years ago on only a few of them. I just relegated them to non critical usage. Now that I have a lot of them with this problem I would like to get them repaired. If it is a know problem, with a known fix that I could do myself I would rather do that as I will most likely be donating these speakers to local organizations that need them.

It's just a connection problem in the module. Take it apart and you will see a multi pin cable (white). At the connector you can actually tap on it and the cable to fix/change the noise. It's usually the connector. Just press on it and it will fix it most of the time. I actually had to redo one connector on one of mine.
