Gee, that antenna truss looks like a familiar design...

One of yours? I wish we had an antenna truss like that at Panorama. We had all the antennas 40' offstage shooting under a 12' trim video wall. I notice not a Magic Arm in sight.

Yup. CMA Music Festival. It's the best I could do with a  30' x 5' hole in the lighting rig to ensure line of sight to most stage positions. It has TX and RX antennas for production intercom, IFB, IEMs, mics, guest artists' mics, and guest artists' IEM. Been doing it at this
particular gig for the last four years.

Ugh, I feel your pain with crappy antenna positions and stupid range. Often times I raise hell until they let me at least clamp IEM TX to the top chord of the video truss, but it never seems to make me any friends on the production staff until after the gig is over. Then it's all love about the trouble-free RF.

In case anyone is not familiar with the term "magic arm" it is a multi jointed positioning system with a hinge swivel and 2 ball swivels that all lock with the tightening of a single knob. They are usually used for mounting camera, but they are real handy for positioning antennas with a clamp on one end and an antenna mount on the other.

There is also a popular variant made by Noga used to hold indicators in machining.

On that truss, do you know the distribution of antennas?
Are they all RX or are there some TX as well?

I'm sure Jason will be able to answer specific questions but here is a good write up from RF Venue on this event including some drawings that detail antenna use and spacing.

Think of your antennas like lighting fixtures.  You have to put them in the right place.  On the floor behind the roadcase mountain wouldn't be great for a light, and wouldn't be great for an antenna either.
