Second online company having killer PRX deals in the past couple of weeks....hmmm......

Looks like they are discontinuing that series. The prices are dropping at most places.

I remember JBL announced the PRX700 series at a convention (I forget what) in late July of 2013, I wonder if they plan on announcing its replacement there again.
Short-lived series if it is getting replaced, although the PRX700 series was a very small upgrade from the 600 series to begin with.

But anything more of an upgrade is the SRX800 series .......

Anyone ever compare the prx712 to qsc k12's?  I know the prx is wood but wondering about sound quality. I have k12's but need a few more monitors. This price is hard to pass up.

I own k10's which are very close in sound to the K12's and I used to own PRX612's and I preferred the PRX612's. Warmer sounding and when pushed hard did not break up as bad.

If the aim is to get closer in quality to the SRX, they will shoot themselves in the foot because the SRX800 series is so well priced anyway, most folks would get the SRX's. I just don't see much room between a PRX upgrade and the SRX series....Sub wise there is already not enough difference to shout about between the PRX718xlf and the SRX818p/SRX828p IMHO ( don't get me wrong- I have both and love them both for different applications). More difference in the tops...
