Dante Via with Saffire MixControl?
« on: June 06, 2016, 01:48:31 AM »

Curious if anyone has experience using Dante Via, and specifically whether it plays nice with Saffire MixControl software?

I am planning a Dante installation to connect several rooms of a facility, based around a RedNet 2 in our main studio. The other rooms have much smaller channel counts and already have multitrack audio interfaces installed, so I was looking at just using Dante Via for these.

For one room I want to be able to bring in multiple channels with Dante Via and route them to my DAW for multitrack recording, but I am already using MixControl for routing as the interface is a Saffire Pro40. Will these networked channels from DV just show straight up as separate input sources in MixControl once I've configured it in Dante Controller?
The other option is to just get another RedNet 1/2 but that seems like overkill when my main priority for this room is ITB recording.

Basically just trying to iron out all the question marks before I leap into purchasing. Thanks for any input!
