I'm in the process of moving our main wireless rigs from BNC to N connectors (Sennheiser 2000 Series to D9000 Series).  I'm looking to purchase a pair of Female to Female N adapters and Female BNC to N adapters for those "Oh S***" situations.

Some questions:
1)  Is the PIM Rating worth the cost?  There is a $30 difference between these two options.  http://www.amphenolrf.com/172370.html & http://www.amphenolrf.com/172123.html.
2)  Is there a difference that should concern me between the UG-29A and B?  Any info that will help me make a decision either way?   http://www.amphenolrf.com/082-101.html & http://www.amphenolrf.com/082-65.html.
3)  Any other thoughts or knowledge you can pass along?

You are overthinking this.  The frequency and power levels are low.  Passive intermod products are going to be 100dB-ish below active intermod products.

If they are only for occassional use (not connected/disconnected all the time) just go to ebay and buy the $5 chinese ones.

I thought that might be the answer, after reading two articles relating PIM to cell power levels, but I was not confident as some of the material is new to me.

I used to use Pasternak Enterprises in my more active engineering days. They have pretty much any RF adapter imaginable and are of good quality. Just another source to check out.

Pasternack are great, but they will probably have six variants of the N joiners.  Maybe a dozen if you include different lengths of bulkhead joiners.  :-)

Yes, Pasternack has a huge variety, but the website is setup in a smart way.  It quickly narrows down the options that are appropriate for your needs.

I was quite shocked the difference in custom cable between Pasternack and the Antenna Farm, for example.  The same cabling (LMR-400-UF), similar spec'ed Male N connectors, 25' length and shrink wrap compares at $108/EA to $70/EA.  One is located in CA and the other MT.  No doubt the living expenses in MT are lower, but by $30/EA?

And yes Lyle, I do overthink.    A $30 difference adds up quickly as your quantity needed increases.  But I also want a quality built cable.

L-Com is a pretty good source for RF adapters and such. They also have a pretty nice selection of antennas, including wifi - handy if you use Axient and the Showlink stuff needs a better antenna.
