Maybe I missed it, but I did not hear anything that was a suggestion on how to set it.  Only that you could.

Did I miss something?

The settings he uses at 11 min mark. They seem to to good for my SW118V.

He's setting the high pass at 30hz.  It's already been recommended by several members that you set yours higher than 30hz (the most commonly mentioned has been 40hz) for the reasons that 30hz is Yamaha's claimed lowest response of that speaker, there isn't much useful music below 40hz, and the filter won't be a brick wall, but will simply be sloping downward below 40hz.
