Midas Heritage-D - leaked photos
« on: May 03, 2016, 05:40:45 PM »

Had a feeling this was coming, after reading about the new midas preamps.

Looks to be an M32-style version of the Pro series.

Seems to be an awful lot of wasted space in the EQ section.

I talked to a guy from Music Group today.  His answer is that he doesn't know anything first hand (different division), but that it's a rendering rather than a photograph of a real item.  His educated guess is it's a near future product, which may or may not end up as the rendering.

It looks more "Behringer" (X/M32) than "Midas" (Pro) to me.  Hopefully Pro1 level price point.

If that's a fake, someone put a hell of a lot of effort into making a fake photo-realistic rendering.

I like that. All bands at your fingertips without pushing buttons. I tend to use eq a lot if the act is constantly changing styles. Our show used to do tunes from the 50s to present. Might not have to play with the eq as much with the current bands lined up.

I see it labeled at HD96-16. Does that mean 16 channels at 96k or you have to assign inputs in banks of 16?

With the amount and type of i/o on the back I'd be surprised if it couldn't control "a whole lotta bunch of inputs".  That said I see only 16 input faders and no way of switching banks (presumably a touch screen thing).

I'm beginning to buy into the "mock up image" thoughts.

They certainly can have been working on the innards while other folks are exploring the packaging. With modular internal design, they can have the controls functional and simply do a re-layout when the case design is finalized. That way they can have internal prototypes for the programmers to be working on before there is any packaging available.

It's not "fake", but it isn't real either, it's a 3D-modelled design concept.
