X-Air question
« on: April 25, 2016, 10:59:49 PM »

Hey curious - I have an XR-18 and for some reason the same exact fx on fx1 doesn't work on any channel while the same fx on fx2 does. I've fiddled with everything. Any thoughts? Again, any input has the same issue with the fx1 and fx2. I have also ensured the fx settings on each are identical.

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I don't have a good idea what's going on with your device but wanted to ask what you are using to control it?

If an iPad, be aware that the app is non-functional in mysterious ways compared to the Android. If so, try connection a laptop to your mixer and see if you can fix the problem.

I was having a problem with the iPad showing Bus 6 was set to be post-fader but it very clearly wasn't and resetting it in the iPad had no effect.

Using a connected laptop changed it to post-fader and it acted that way.

Good luck, let us know what you find.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for posting your question. Could you please provide us with more information about your setup like which firmware version is your XR18 is currently running and what device (and software/app version) are you using to control your mixer?

Are you inserting your FX or running your channel audio to the FX Busses? If you are attempting to insert an FX on multiple channels of audio then I can tell you this is not possible. You would have to insert another FX or run your audio input channels to one of your FX busses to achieve this.

Please let us know and we can help you troubleshoot further.

Let’s keep in touch,

There does seem to be some limitations to using the Ipad version of control over this mixer. Things like changing an aux from pre to post EQ for me would not work. It is certainly best ran with the PC or MAC software. I have not used an Andriod based controller yet though.

Hey all, and thanks for the response. Although I understand what you all meant by the differences in the ipad/laptop/android, I'm embarrassed to say I simply didn't see the separate return buttons :(

I love the laptop version, way better (in my opinion) in terms of ready information at a glance, etc.

Thanks,
Patrick
