I have an event coming up where the client wants me to run satellite speakers 100' and 200' from the main area to hear some announcements. I suggested we run cables and they want to supply their own wireless unit (which I was not aware of). I assume this is a consumer grade unit and of course you get what you pay for. Does anyone have experience with this unit? Does it work? If so, why spend $1000+ on a pro unit?

This device works in the WiFi 2.4 gig range.
If there is little WiFi congestion, it might work OK.

In a public event the thousands of smartphones will always destroy the wifi spectrum.  Your are better off with a regular UHF or VHF TX and RX on a clean frequency.  200' is a very short distance.  Clear line of site and directional antennas will help.

Looking close at the picture it looks like the male XLR's are labeled "input"

They must have looked at an old Shure M68 mixer for their input connector gender reference!
