JBL Tuning with DBX 360 what a sruggle
« on: August 18, 2019, 01:15:13 PM »

Hey Everyone
I am new to this Prosoundweb.

I have
A DBX 360
three Crown I-Tech 5000HD
two JBL SRX 835 passive Tops
two JBL SRX 828 Passive Subs getting two more later (4 in total)

This system (Music) is my Hobby in my house. You know my neighbors love me lol

I need help to get the DBX programmed right> Speaker tuning right. The presets suck and it sounds like crap. lol When i bypass the processor OMG it sounds so much  better.
BTW I used to build night Clubs and run sound 15 years ago in Nashville TN So I have some knowledge....
what should be the input/output db setting?
what i got is output 1 and 2 main 3 and 4 Subs 5 and 6 future subs
Thank you for all you do

Please describe what about the sound is a problem for you?

When you say “preset” what are you referring to?

Are you biamping the top cabs?

What are your inputs to the Venue 360?

It sounds like you have it configured to be a two way system - stereo tops and mono subs?

Are you using the configuration assistant (don’t remember what it is called)?

We need some more details.

  Hello Arnd;

I am curious to know why the dbx is needed at all since the I-TECH HD amps have full BSS DSP on board?

  Thank you.

What are your inputs to the Venue 360? ch 1 and ch 2 left and right

It sounds like you have it configured to be a two way system - stereo tops and mono subs? yes all two way stereo and subs as well.

Are you using the configuration assistant (don’t remember what it is called)? I tried but i can't get it to sound right. It sounds better without the dbx I just don't know nothing about the crown I Tech

The DBX360 is not needed.  Load the software for the Crown amps and program the DSP's in them.

The processing in the amps is vastly superior to the 360

You would think a Nashville guy that worked for 15 years in the business could follow the factory instructions.  Why do people need to say things like that when clearly they don't even understand the basics.

If you did understand you would know that these are great PA speakers.  They won't sound good in a home application.  You could have achieved much better for much less.

If you want to sell the amps I will give you 60% off MAP
