Hey, how did my topic swerve to radon therapy? I want old-school electric shock quackery.  :o

Quackery s everywhere.  I fell for this one.  I put a dollar in.  Nothing changed...

I am sure at least some of your students would be happy to donate-win-win for you.  You get your shock therapy and a little pocket money.

Looks like you had to pay to get shocked, and it was thought to be GOOD for you.

No kid who grew up on a farm ever paid for shock therapy.

Try this one...

My granddad had a hand cracked electric shock machine, apparently they were a thing back then.
When I was in primary school my grandfather gave me a hand cranked telephone ring current generator.  I had loads of fun with that.  Later in life I had a hand cranked insulation tester.  That was fun when I found people similar to those who would put $1 into the gullibility testing machine above.

Came across this in a shop this weekend.  Seems the inventor was one of the first prosecuted by the FDA for false claims.  If the claims in the included instructions were true, it would have put most doctors out of business (conspiracy theory anyone?)

Story goes he was on the stand under oath and asked if he had ever used the device, to which he answered, "Yes".  His answer to the follow up question, "For what?" gives me great confidence in the theory behind the device.  His answer?  "For menopause."

I had one of these back in grade school. I even shocked a few nuns with it. That's was some fun.
