Hi all, I am currently looking for replacement subwoofers in a location that gets very wet. This is for a fountain area and the subs would get direct water/mist exposure. The previous set of subs (4x Danley TH-118) were ordered to be built suitable this type of location, but after 3 years, they didn't hold up too well.

We're looking for replacement subs of any brand that can withstand these conditions. There are a few requisites and they are:

They CANNOT be flown
Preferably, not powered
They must be able to fit in an enclosure 45x25x30 inches.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

What failed the box or the driver?  Is there a way to provide positive air flow out of the area to limit the moisture coming in?

The driver seemed to hold up fairly well. The boxes, on the other hand started to develop a rattling sound whenever a bass note hit. The grill screws pulled through the wood causing the grill to come loose. At first, we thought the loose grill was causing the rattle but upon removing the grills all together, we found out the rattle was coming from the boxes themselves.

The enclosures are mounted flush to concrete. The enclosures themselves have a stainless steel grill with a much finer stainless steel mesh behind it. The ground inside the enclosures are sloped to prevent water accumulation inside. Unfortunately, without digging out the entire area, there is no way to create positive airflow inside.

Did you get the AquaTight option when you ordered the subs? Or did you just have them waterproof the drivers? I've never had a need for AquaTight, but from my understanding it's a fiberglass-type resin that the box is treated with. 

I assume you're going to want output similar to the TH118 from whatever you replace these with? I'm not aware of any other 'tour grade' subs that are truly waterproof. JBL makes some stuff that's rated for direct exposure, but it doesn't have nearly the output of the TH118. So that means 8-16 'conventional' subs.  Do you have space for that?

The One Systems 118HSB is IP56 rated with vent plugs:

The definition of IP56 is: Protected from limited dust ingress. Protected from high pressure water jets from any direction.

No direct experience with the speaker, but if installed according to the manufacturer instructions One Systems will warranty it for five years.

The JBL WRX is also IP56 rated. 
The ASB6128-WRX is the install equivalent of a Vertec 4880, while the ASB7128-WRX is the install equivalent of a Vertec 4880a.
