Sending AV feed to an adjoining room.
« on: February 05, 2016, 02:50:14 PM »

I need to send a live video and audio feed from our main congregation area to our mothers room at my church. We cannot set up a network. We would rather not direct wire it due to the fact that we are portable and have to break down and store everything but are not completely opposed to it. Is there a way to do this? Any help would be great!

I don't understand your statement "we cannot setup a network".  If you can run cable running data is a good option.

If you can't use (or don't have) a network, and you don't want to run a cable, how were you planning to transmit the signal? How far away is the mothers room? What are the walls made of? What content are you looking to send? Is it a mirror of the projector, an IMAG camera, both? Is HD a requirement? What is your budget?

I am new to audio and video so I am unfamiliar with the equipment. The room is roughly 50ft away from the camera. There is 1 wall I assume it is a block wall, we are in a school. We are looking to send audio and video, we would like it to be HD. I don't have an actual number for the budget. We would like to keep it as cheap as possible without sacrificing quality to bad.

A simple Dropcam connected to churches wifi can be viewed on TV or Computer in next room also on internet.  No cost after you buy it unless you want to record last 7 days or more.

Does the dropcam take care of sound as well?

Yes but not very hifi audio. There's an 'event' camera called Movi supposed to be shipping soon. It supports an audio line in from your console.

Lots of ways to do this. Are you looking to purchase or rent?
You can run HDSDI, fiber, cat6 all with audio.
