Teller sound system
« on: January 14, 2016, 09:03:15 pm »

Can anyone point me to an option for a bank teller style system for a teller to push to talk and a customer can talk back. I can't mount in the glass on this one. Pretty straightforward bank or convenience store type situation

I have no experience here, but in case others do, I'll ask these.

Is there usable countertop space for sub-deck mounting (upward projection)?
Is there drop ceiling low enough to do similar from above?
Should the patron side be 0% exposed or accessible (nothing sticking out)?

There is usable counter top space, albeit small.

No drop ceiling option, it needs to be close to the patron (like on the counter) for privacy.

Patron side could be a small speaker mounted to the counter top.

If it's not going in/on the glass then you're really just looking at a standard intercom like Aiphone or similar. lots of different options with speakers or handsets

TELEX, HME and Bosch are some names I've seen on those type of products.

Norcon communications

   TTU-3
For applications where it would be impractical to cut a 3-4 inch hole in the barrier.

If you want to use a phone at the other end I like the Valcom IP units.  You could use it with the phone, with or without a PBX.
