WinRadio WR-305e scanner question.
« on: December 23, 2015, 03:47:14 PM »

WinRadio WR-305e scanner question.

I am trying to get a usable CSV file out of a WinRadio WR-305e scanner. That I will then import into Shure Wireless Workbench V6. I assume that I am doing something wrong. In the CSV file I don’t get the level of the frequencies that I get a hit on, at least not anywhere that I can see. They should be in the format of like (-45). Also the frequencies I am getting are 9 characters long without the appropriate decimal point for Mhz. so 450125000 instead of 450.125 and I can’t figure out how to parse that in Excel. I assume that I will have to edit out the header and other data that isn’t needed.

Does anyone have an idiots guide to making this work. I have spent hours trying to get this to work properly and I am lost. Is there some selection I don’t have set right?

Well I figured out how to get the frequency in the format I need now I am just missing the db level of each frequency, signal strength.

I just needed to format the cells as a number with 3 decimal points and divide the 9 digit number by 1,000,000. It was so easy but I was thinking this shouldn’t be necessary, the CSV scan file should be in the right format to start with.

Can you post a sample of that data you are getting?   I'm not sure how to get the missing dB level if the program isnt spitting it out.

It looks like this. The -95 is the Level squelch value. The second number the 9 digit one is the frequency, I was scanning local radio stations to test things.I have a feeling I don’t have it configured properly so it will spit it out. All indications are that it is supposed to be capable of putting out the proper data. But nowhere can I find detailed instructions regarding how to configure it to do that. I can see it showing the signal strength in the WinRadio software as it finds frequencies.
