Aeson Zip Wash ALP2124 and Zip Spot 150 LED Movers?
« on: December 11, 2015, 10:26:30 pm »

Hi all. I'm just learning about lighting and trying to put together a rig for my corporate band..Same deal as a lot of people:) Anyway, Based on talking to other lighting professionals and my own experience on the 20-30' X 12-20' average stages I mostly see I'd like a good enough rig to light a 6 piece band plus some movers. I've used the 4Bars, and lower end par stuff and none of it seems bright enough. So I had a line on 10 of these Aeson 2124 par lights that are almost brand new for $200 each. Specs are good to my eyes and my idea is to put 2 on a tree in each corner front and rear stage to wash the band..Ponted correctly of course. Then I was looking at these Aeson Zip Spot 150 LED movers but again, I have never heard of the brand. So my questions are:

Is this a legit brand?
Are the Wash lights enough to light my typical stages effectively and worth it given the price-$2000 for 10 With a road case?
Would 4 of the Aeson Moving heads be good? My idea is 2 front, 1 per side and 2 back wall.

I was thinking this might be a good basic show to build on but I could be wrong so please any and all advice welcome!

ALP 2124
Hmm that price seems almost too good to be true? I found them new at GearSource, for $2,222.00 Each. I've never heard of this brand, but I dabble in MI level lighting - not pro level (ADJ, Chavet, Chinese clones). If the spec's are correct, the lux is brighter than anything I've used. Do you know how to program dmx and do you have a controller in mind?

Aeson Zip Spot 150 LED
$1,333 new each, a true 150w LED will be brighter than most MI gear. I do not know the brand, so let some of the more experienced guys chime in.

Here is their website, not a lot of info. No downloadable manuals which is an issue.
http://aesontech.com/index.html
For a quick check, I go to Avolites.com and look to see if they have personalities already, they list 4 Aeson fixtures but not the ones you listed.

Aeson imports from China, I talked with them at InfoComm last year.  Mostly LED wall panels at the time.  No first hand experience, but nothing jumped out to us as "must have".

Yea but for $500 a piece, the specs on those movers look stellar. Nothing for 2X the cost comes close that I have found. However if no one knows anything about them or is using them than it's a no-go.
